“The most dog friendly places in GlendaleAZ

You know the feeling. As you pick up your keys, another familiar jangle greets you–the sound of your dog’s collar as she snaps up straight to see where you’re going. Then all it takes is one look from those sad glassy eyes and you know you absolutely HAVE to bring her along. If this has ever happened to you, or you’re like us and you want to bring your dog everywhere with you–it’s good to know where pets are allowed to tag along! Good thing GlendaleAZ is full of dog friendly places, no matter what you’re looking to do.

Dog Parks:

What’s more dog friendly than place where your dog can go to make friends?! Glendale, AZhas over ten dog parks to choose from, but we’ll highlight just a few of our favorites here. For the more adventurous pup, Thunderbird Conservation park is an awesome place to stretch your legs and do a little hiking in a desert conservation area. 15 miles of trails zig zag over 1185 acres in Hedgpeth hills. Bring some extra water for you and your dog if you head out for a long hike. For a more low key experience, bring your dog to the very social Sahuaro Ranch Park. With separate areas for dogs of different sizes plus some play equipment, it’s a great place for your dog to safely make some new friends! Check out all of GlendaleAZ‘s local dog parks here.

Lodging:

Visiting GlendaleAZ or looking for a little staycation? Dog owners know the drill when it comes to looking for a place they can bring Rover for a few nights stay. Too often they’re greeted with “small dogs only” or an egregious “pet fee” when looking for lodging. Luckily, GlendaleAZ has abundant options for hotels and Airbnb rentals that are pet friendly. Take this guest house for example–pets are allowed, and there’s a large courtyard for your dogto relax in. Nearby, the Residence Inn in GlendaleAZ allows up to two pets for a $100 fee–while this certainly adds to the cost, having a designated pet friendly room can make all the difference for a traveler with a dog.

Restaurants:

Most restaurants have a “no-dogs allowed” policy unless they are service animals. Luckily, in GlendaleAZ there are tons of places you can bring a dog. In many cases, outdoor seating is the key–and with GlendaleAZ‘s warm weather, there’s plenty of patio to go around. For breakfast and brunch, check out Kiss the Cook, a popular local spot for breakfast and comfort food. Don’t miss their baskets of muffins. Dogs are welcome on their patio. For dinner, go to Haus Murphy’s for delicious German food and beer! They even have a gallery of pups who have visited on their website, so they’re a sure bet when it comes for a dinner spot to bring your dog.

Bars:

Does your pup enjoy a bit of the nightlife or maybe a cheeky mid-day pint on a Saturday? GlendaleAZ‘s bars enjoy the same dog friendliness as the local restaurants–many with patios and open air courtyards that are dog friendly. *Technically* the Wandering Tortoise is in PhoenixAZ, but it’s a very short trip from GlendaleAZ, and it’s famous among dog lovers. The combination of food trucks outside and no food service indoors makes it a great place to get out of the sun with your dog. Just have a look at all the love dog owners have shared for this place.  Finally, right next door to the aforementioned Haus Murphy’s is another dog friendly bar– Old Towne Glendale Wine and Beer Bar. You can have dinner at one dog friendly place, and then hop over to the patio at Old Towne to cap off your night with your four legged companion curled up at your feet.
